September 13, 2014 ~ Sept 13 is the 2nd celebration of the International Plein Air Paintout in Southhport...with a wet paint sell on the grounds of Ft Johnston (the Southport Visitor's Center....) mark your calendar and plan to come.....It was a Great Time Had By All last year...

It's coming soon, the Southport, NC celebration of the International Plein Air Paint out......September 13.....paint out and wet paint sale and no fees....Y'ALL COME.....last year there were over 35 artist who participated.....Non painters come to meet the artists and enjoy their day's work..

Southport Celebrates International Plein Air Painters Worldwide Paint Out.

Artist from around North and South Carolina are invited to historic Southport to celebrate th 12th International Plein Air Worldwide Paint Out.  2nd Annual Southport Plein Air paint-out is an exciting OUTDOOR event, sponsored by the City of Southport as a way to support artists in our area and bring public art to our streets. The event will take place on Saturday, September, 13, 2014 from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Mark you Calendar for this amazing event and join us in Southport,  where our area’s most talented painters will be painting En Plein Air (in the opThis event is open and free to the public, however, all participating artist MUST register. Each artist will create original painting(s) of Southport’s historic landscape and buildings. The public is invited to stroll our streets and watch as each artist turns a blank canvas in to a “one of a kind” piece of Southport art.

Don't miss the WET PAINT Sale at the end of the day. Artist will gather on the lawn of the Fort Johnston Museum, where the public will be invited to view and purchase an original piece of art. WET PAINT SA:E will open to the public @ 3:30 until 4:30.  Please note that our works of art sale out quickly. '

Art enthusiasts will have a chance to take home one of these treasures in what we feel will become a collection that will be revered for many generations to come. 

Fort Johnston - Southport Museum and Visitors’ Center located at 203 E. Bay, behind the NC Maritime Museum.

The beauty is within our streets, the finished product is in the hands of the artist.
