The Three Plein Air Musketeers (Dean, Bernie, and Mitchell) headed to New Bern on the heels of tropical storm Hanna. After the storm... sky's were clear... plein air fever set in... and we were off and arrived in New Bern about 2:45 PM on Saturday the 6th. We set up near Christ's Church on Pollock Street and painted till almost dark. We all managed to get two paintings in each as Penny cheered us on!
Finished works to come soon...
Sunday morning (the 7th)... I met Susan, John, Art, and several other artists at the Gazebo at Union Point Park at 9:00 AM. Susan had the event perfectly organized... had us sign in and gave us maps of the New Bern downtown area. Each artist went their own way and I opted for more architecture in beautiful downtown New Bern while most of the other artists painted along the waterfront. Mitchell joined me around 10:30 AM accompanied by Penny and we both painted two more works a piece... leaving around 5:00 PM.
Finished paintings coming soon...
All-in-all... a GREAT weekend... a PERFECT location... nice people... Great weather and Light! Artists from Onslow County (OOPS), New Bern (Twin River Artist Association), Oriental, and Little Washington made the event a success! We look forward to gathering again next year... if not sooner!
We hope to highlight everyone's work on this blog asap...
Bernie
