June Paint Out CANCELLED... Read On...
Our June 2008 "Paint Out" at the "Arts by the Seas" festival in downtown Swansboro is CANCELLED!
Read on...
Pat called me just moments ago and explained a situation that happened to her that leaves us with no choice but to cancel our organized paint out. She was speaking to a woman in Swansboro about our group painting in the area during the festival and the woman (evidently on a board for the festival) implied that we were not welcome to paint there unless we paid a vender's fee. Pat explained to her that we were not selling anything... only painting... the woman still insisted we need to pay or we were not welcome to paint there.
SOOOOO... with that said... Pat and I discussed the situation and made the decision to cancel the organized paint out as not to ruffle any feathers. Guess the "the friendly city by the sea" will be minus some cool plein air painters. I'm sure it is a misunderstanding in communication... but... If you choose to paint Saturday you are on your own... my advice would be not to paint within the city limits near the festival.
I will not be able to attend... Tami and I are off to Ireland for our 20th wedding anniversary! See you when I get back...
